Deaf Chat Coffee is a place where ASL users can meet and drink a cup of coffee or other drink. Deaf Chat Coffee is not new for Hawaii's island. A long time ago, there was a Deaf Chat Coffee at the Starbucks on Kilauea Avenue in Hilo. Jessica established the Deaf Chat Coffee in September 2016 . About 10 people monthly attended for almost for 2 years at the Starbucks Prince Kuhio Plaza in Hilo. The most visitors are hearing and deaf women. They enjoyed the chat on Saturday night from 6 pm to 9 pm. Sometimes, we got curious locals, tourists and home buyers from the Mainland. January 2018 was the best month for Deaf Chat Coffee. In this month, about 16 visitors attended the Starbucks. Unfortunately , Jessica stopped attending Deaf Chat Coffee because of a busy life. There are still Deaf Chat Coffees in another places on the Mainland and Oahu (?) Who wants to host the Deaf Chat Coffee for Hilo and area?
