Volcanic Ash and Vog Community Meeting in Volcano on June 7 2018

Hawaii County Civil Defense will hold Volcanic Ash and Vog Community Meeting on Thursday, June 7th to update residents about Volcanic Ash and Vog from Kilauea.

The briefing will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Cooper Center, Volcano
(19-4030 Wright Road, Volcano, HI 96785)

Have your vog and ash impacts questions answered by representatives from:


  • USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory
  • Department of Health, Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response Office 
  • Department of Health, Clean Air Branch
  • Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency

The ASL interpreters will be available there.

Deaf Cruise Ship Days 2023 and 2024 (!)

One of the stops on the cruise will be the Big Island, with stops in: Kona on Sunday, December 3th from 9 am to 6 pm  Hilo on Monday, December 4th from 8 am to 5 pm. Passages Deaf Travel will organize the Hawaii Cruise 2024  for April 2024.
